Doctor, I had two rounds of Juvelook injections in my right cheek about two years ago. Now, there is a small bump and a circular shadow on my right cheek, which seems to be a nodule or lump complication from the Juvelook. I heard that since Juvelook is not Hyaluronic Acid (HA), it cannot be dissolved or removed, and that treatment might leave a depression instead of a bump, making it basically untreatable. Is this situation hopeless, or is there a way to make the nodule disappear and restore a smooth surface? Thank you!

Gouri is not a pure hyaluronic acid; it contains collagen-stimulating components. Therefore, if nodules or fibrotic lumps have already formed, hyaluronidase alone usually cannot fully resolve them. However, this does not mean it is completely untreatable, nor does it mean it will inevitably leave depressions after treatment.
Since it has been two years since your injection and you still have fixed small bumps and circular shadows, we first need to perform a physical examination and use ultrasound to confirm whether the issue is an accumulation of filler, collagen-stimulating nodules, fibrosis, or shadows caused by uneven surrounding tissue. Different causes require different treatment approaches.
If localized lumps are confirmed, we can evaluate using ultrasound guidance to remove a portion of the lumps through minimally invasive pinhole extraction. The goal is not to clear everything out in a single attempt, but rather to gradually reduce the bumps while avoiding depressions, allowing the surface to recover to a smoother and more natural appearance.
Whether it can disappear completely and how many sessions are needed will depend on the depth and extent of the lumps, as well as the degree of adhesion to surrounding tissues. You can first provide your pre-treatment photos, injection time, treatment area, number of vials, and any previous treatments you have received, and we can then perform a further evaluation with ultrasound on-site.
