Regret getting Sculptra injections

I had the "Reverse" filler procedure done at a clinic on March 23rd. It has been 22 days, and my face is as swollen as Anpanman; all my facial contours have disappeared. I went to another clinic for an ultrasound, and the doctor said the filler on my right side has migrated into the fat layer, while the left side is still in the dermis. My current Fos score is 42.
I would like to ask the doctor what I should do. I have already booked appointments with you in both Kaohsiung and Taipei—one for June and one for July. Is there any way to move them up? I am so afraid of fibrosis.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to share your situation on the forum.
Direct Answer: It has been 22 days since your Profhilo injection, and you are still experiencing noticeable swelling and distorted facial contours, with ultrasound showing asymmetrical distribution between the left and right sides. This is not a "normal postoperative swelling for a few days" situation. You should have an in-person evaluation as soon as possible by a physician experienced in managing these types of issues. We do not recommend trying to tough it out or simply waiting it out.
Possibilities to Distinguish
1. Where the product is currently distributed across tissue planes (your ultrasound already shows it in the fat layer on the right side and the dermal layer on the left side)
2. Whether there is a concurrent abnormal edema, inflammatory reaction, or other tissue changes
3. What the subsequent steps should be: monitoring, treatment, or the extent of intervention required
To be honest, I have recently seen several consecutive cases of noticeable swelling following Profhilo injections. These are no longer isolated incidents, and the underlying cause cannot be simply brushed aside with a "wait and it will naturally resolve" attitude.
General Treatment Direction
- Regarding your concern about fibrosis, a conclusion cannot be reached solely based on written descriptions or FOS scores. Not all swelling has necessarily progressed to fibrosis, but repeated delays and recurrent inflammation do make subsequent management more complex.
- During an in-person consultation—regardless of the clinic—it is recommended to prepare: the injection date, product name and dosage (if known), current ultrasound results, and recent facial photos. Having this information will significantly speed up the evaluation process.
When to Seek Medical Attention Urgently
If the swelling suddenly worsens accompanied by redness, warmth, or pain, or if you experience skin blanching/discoloration, changes in vision, or fever, do not wait for a regular clinic appointment; seek medical care immediately.
Try not to panic too much. What is most feared with these types of issues is not the treatment itself, but rather the failure to truly identify where the problem lies. Once the tissue planes, distribution, and tissue reactions are clearly understood, you will know the best path forward.
