Forehead Ellansé Lump Revision: Why I Only Take After Photos at Three Months

Three months ago, I posted photos of this patient's forehead lumps.

Some commenters said the images were AI-generated. Others said the filler had already hardened and could not be taken out.

These are her photos three months after the repair. Same person, same setting.

Why wait three months?

With forehead lump repair photos, the thing most likely to mislead people is timing — so today I want to talk about time.

Flush the area with saline and take a photo right away: the forehead looks flat. Take another two or three days later: still flat. It looks like "the treatment was a huge success." In reality, the injected fluid has simply pushed the bumps flat; the lumps are only hiding for a while.

Once the body absorbs the saline — in less than a week — the lumps come back. People then wonder: the lumps were gone, so why did they grow back? The relief lasts less than a week, because in fact the lumps never went away.

That is why I only take after photos at three months. By then the swelling has settled and the fluid has been absorbed; what remains is the real result.

Her case

Her forehead had been injected with Ellansé. The lumps had been there for two years — hard as stone, with a badly uneven surface. Hyaluronidase has no effect on this material, and flushing with saline could not wash it out either.

We located the lumps with ultrasound and removed the lumps themselves through a single minimally invasive pinhole — reducing both the filler material and the hardened tissue it had caused.
