Regret getting Sculptra injections

gmes115@gmail.com · 4/15/2026

I had the "Reverse" filler procedure done at a clinic on March 23rd. It has been 22 days, and my face is as swollen as Anpanman; all my facial contours have disappeared. I went to another clinic for an ultrasound, and the doctor said the filler on my right side has migrated into the fat layer, while the left side is still in the dermis. My current Fos score is 42. I would like to ask the doctor what I should do. I have already booked appointments with you in both Kaohsiung and Taipei—one for June and one for July. Is there any way to move them up? I am so afraid of fibrosis.

Hello, thank you for being willing to share your situation here on the FillerRescue forum, and thank you for your trust in me. From your description, 22 days after receiving Profhilo injections on March 23rd, you still have significant swelling — to the point where your facial contours have disappeared. The ultrasound also shows different distribution layers on the left and right sides. This is clearly not a simple case of "normal post-procedure swelling that will resolve in a few days," and I completely understand your concern. Frankly, this type of pronounced swelling after Profhilo injections is something I have been seeing in several consecutive patients recently, including yourself. This is no longer an isolated, coincidental case. This means it probably cannot be dismissed with "just wait and it will go away on its own." Instead, we need to carefully examine: - Which tissue layer is the product currently distributed in - Whether there is abnormal edema, inflammatory response, or other tissue changes - What the appropriate course of action should be — observation, treatment, or intervention, and to what degree As for your concern about fibrosis — we cannot make that determination based solely on a text description or FOS score alone. Some swelling does not necessarily indicate fibrosis has occurred, but repeated delays and recurring inflammation can indeed make treatment more complicated later. Therefore, I recommend that you do not try to tough it out on your own, and do not simply keep waiting. Instead, please have a physician who is experienced with these types of issues evaluate you in person as soon as possible. You have already booked appointments in Taipei and Kaohsiung, and we have noted that. Because you reached out through the FillerRescue forum first, we will pay special attention to whether there is an opportunity to move your appointment forward and arrange a consultation as quickly as possible. Please add our official LINE: @liusmed, or https://lin.ee/dY3wih4 and include in your message: "I am the patient who posted on the FillerRescue forum about severe swelling after Profhilo injections" Please also include: - Date of injection - Product name and dosage (if known) - Current ultrasound results - Current photos of your face - Clinic location and date of existing appointments Once we receive your message, our staff will arrange your consultation as quickly as possible and watch for any earlier available slots. Please try not to panic. With these types of issues, the biggest concern is not the treatment itself, but rather not having the problem properly identified. Once we clearly understand the distribution layers, tissue response, and other details, then we can determine the appropriate next steps.
